Our Guest Speaker will be Paul Van Dyk, Traffic Engineering Associate with the City of Long Beach.
Mr. Van Dyk will have a presentation to introduce the Ocean Boulevard (Belmont Shore) Traffic Study and to clarify how, when, and why the city is undertaking this study along with the goals for the project. He will also explain the relationship between this traffic study and current plans for resurfacing Ocean Blvd. in the fall. A sign-up sheet will be available so that attendees who are interested in participating in the traffic study can be notified of upcoming workshops and other meetings.

Airport Item on July 7th Council Agenda
The City Manager has placed a request for Council direction on the July 7th City Council agenda regarding JetBlue's request for federal inspection services at the Long Beach Airport to allow international flights. Suzie Price has advised that her City Council colleagues and she will be addressing the request from Jet Blue on the July 7th City Council meeting, which is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. A link to the agenda item can be viewed here.

Live Safely Event
Please join Councilwoman Suzie Price at the "Live Safely" event on
Saturday, July 11th from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Recreation Park Community Center located at 4900 East 7th Street.
This complimentary event gives residents a wonderful opportunity to hear from industry experts on the most effective crime fighting tips which will focus on home and property safety. Speakers will be covering various crime safety topics which will include Community Watch, crime trends, how to protect against fraud and identity theft, using online and mobile banking safely, choosing quality door locks, and DIY security cameras. The informational speakers will be from LBPD, OneWest Bank, Kwikset lock manufacturer, Lowes and Best Buy. There will be additional tabletop safety information including, but not limited to, CERT (Community Emergency Response Training), fire safety, Community Watch and child car seat safety. Lunch will be available, courtesy of the Long Beach Police Officers Association and Councilwoman Price.

Belmont Shore’s most popular event is a summer long “taste of Belmont Shore”, with over 45 restaurants offering the best of their menus. Enjoy an evening strolling 2nd Street, savoring food from around the globe, and listening to talented local musicians as you stroll with your family, friends, and dogs (yes, we have treats for dogs too!).
You can purchase tickets at various stores throughout the shore starting Friday, June 12th 15 & in front of CHASE BANK the night of event. The cost is $10 for a sheet of 12 tickets. Use tickets for both nights in same month only! Tickets will be sold at The Beach on 2nd, Blue Windows, Brix in the Shore, Francesca’s, La Strada, Polly’s Gourmet Coffee, Salon Soma, Shore Business Center, Sweet Jill’s, and Urban Table.
