  1. How long have you lived In Long Beach?
    I moved to Long Beach with my parents in 1976.  We lived in North Long Beach off Plymouth.
  2. What job or past role will most help you be an effective council member/mayor?
    I have worked in the Long Beach City Prosecutor's Office, the Burbank City Attorney's Office as a prosecutor, and now with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.  All of these past roles gave me actual real world courtroom experience as a prosecutor.
  3. Describe the key characteristics/elements that you feel unify this city across its 9 districts and disparate geography.
    Our collective love for our City of Long Beach.
  4. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
    Introvert, working the job of an extrovert.
  5. Which (living) national leader in any arena — politics, arts, culture, business, etc. — do you admire and why?
    Jackie Lacey.  She is a true prosecutor with priorities such as ethics, transparency, and doing the right thing for the right reasons.  She spoke at our training when we were first hired.  She always said the worst thing a prosecutor can do is convict an innocent person.  
  6. What is your favorite L.B. hangout with friends and/or family?
    L'Opera in downtown Long Beach.  It is were I took my wife of 25 years on our first date.
  7. List the top three quality-of-life issues you see Belmont Shore/Long Beach residents dealing with right now.
    Homelessness, crime, and inflation. 
  8. What is your preferred or most used social media platform?
    I do not participate in social media.
  9. Outside of Long Beach, where in the state is your happy place?
    Mammoth Mountain during ski season.
  10. Name something about L.B./the Third District you wish more people were aware of.
    The Long Beach Sea Scout Aquatics Center.  Scouts learn to sail, kayak, and participate in aquatic activities.  From the 1990's to 2012, Ship 529 used this as a base and trained sea scouts to sail so they could participate in the "Ultimate Adventure" where they crewed a 50 foot Sail Boat in the British Virgin Islands.
